Equipment:

  • Wide bed

Key Points:

The sub-tasks (in order) are:

  • Rolling onto the side
  • Lifting the upper trunk off the bed
  • Moving into the upright position

Common Errors:

  • Rolling onto the side – not lifting and turning head, or swinging arms fast or far enough from side to side to create sufficient momentum for rolling
  • Moving into the upright position – failing to lean far enough forward. This error will result in the patient falling backwards
